Could sport exist without chemistry? Answers to all these questions could be found at the Grupa Azoty’s stand during this year’s 19th edition of The Science Picnic of the Polish Radio and the Copernicus Science Centre.
Over 800 exhibitions and 250 stands with various attractions awaited the youngest science lovers on 9th May at the National Stadium in Warsaw. This year’s Science Picnic was the biggest popular science event in this part of Europe. For the first time Grupa Azoty presented its portfolio during the Picnic, prepared multitude of attractions and was one of the sponsors of the event.
“Our goal was to show that chemistry, including products of Grupa Azoty, has a great impact on our daily life. We also showed that Grupa Azoty almost every day accompanies the majority of Poles not only by what it produces but also through the support provided to local communities and Polish sportsmen” says Ms Elżbieta Łabno, Director of Corporate Public Relations Office.
One of the main attractions on the Grupa Azoty’s stand were samples of products manufactured at all our plants. Visitors of the Science Picnic could also familiarize themselves with plastics made by Grupa Azoty and their common application. The youngest participants of the Picnic had an opportunity to encounter a robot which was constructed by one of Grupa Azoty’s employees. Everyone had also a chance to meet one of the most famous Polish ski jumpers, Piotr Żyła, and there was also an occasion to see a professional speedway motorcycle branded by Grupa Azoty.
