Grupa Azoty ZAK S.A. yet again wins the Polish Quality Award
On November 11th 2016, winners of the Polish Quality Award competition, organised by the National Chamber of Commerce, were presented with statuettes at a ceremony held at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. Grupa Azoty Zakłady Azotowe Kędzierzyn S.A. was among the winners, awarded in the ‘Large Production Business’ category.

Every year, the Polish Quality Award is granted to organisations which implemented the ‘Management Improvement Model’ of the Polish Quality Award and the principles of ‘Total Quality Management’, and thus achieved a high level of satisfaction among customers, employees and other stakeholders, as well as significant improvement in the following areas: quality of work, processes, products or services, environmental protection, healthcare, occupational health and safety, and social satisfaction. The candidates were evaluated by experts and a jury, as well as members of the Polish Quality Award Committee. 

- Nowadays, high quality in company operations depends on several factors. Apart from an effective management system, it is important to foster innovation in the sector in which a company operates, and execute strategic investment projects, in particular at production companies, such as Grupa Azoty ZAK S.A. I am proud to say that we meet the above criteria and, at the same time, protect both the natural environment and the safety of our surroundings -  said Adam Gąsiorowski, Vice-President of the Management Board.

Grupa Azoty ZAK S.A. has developed an integrated management system based on the principles of customer orientation, continuous improvement and process approach. The Company identified management, key and auxiliary processes, their structures and interrelations. The Company’s senior management has defined the Integrated Management System Policy and the key management objectives in the areas of quality, safety and environmental protection. The objectives are measurable, their implementation deadlines have been set and persons responsible for their achievement have been designated. They are consistent with the IMS Policy and aim at ensuring continuous improvement of the Company’s operations. Initiatives in the areas of quality, safety and environmental protection are supported by the engagement of employees at all levels. The staff of Grupa Azoty ZAK S.A. strive to meet challenges following from changes in external requirements, through rational and innovative use of resources, enhancement of the Company’s business profile, as well as improvement of the applied methods and the existing integrated management system.

The Polish Quality Award competition is organised by the Polish Chamber of Commerce, Polish Centre for Testing and Certification, and the ISO 9000 Polish Forum Club. The honorary patronage over this year’s 22nd edition of the competition was taken by Mateusz Morawiecki, Minister of Development.
