At the opening ceremony held on Friday, dr Marek Tombarkiewicz, director of the hospital, presented an ENT unit, high-quality diagnostic equipment for specialist medical examinations. The purchase of the equipment was fully financed by Grupa Azoty Kopalnie i Zakłady Chemiczne Siarki Siarkopol S.A.

Operating since December 5th 2014, the centre is the only medical establishment in the Province of Kielce offering such a broad range of ENT diagnostic services.  The ceremony was attended by Paweł Jarczewski, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty, and Marian Kosowicz, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty Kopalnie i Zakłady Chemiczne Siarki Siarkopol S.A. “Local communities represent a fundamental value for all Grupa Azoty Group companies. We deeply care about the quality of life in places where our employees live, and we strive to contribute to its continuous improvement”, Mr Jarczewski noted. “We take pride in the fact that the equipment we helped to purchase will significantly enhance the safety and comfort of patients at the Staszów hospital.” The opening event was also attended by local government delegates, including Damian Sierant, Chairman of the Staszów County Council, and Michał Skotnicki, Staszów County Governor. The invited guests were given a tour around the complex to see its facilities, including the state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. The system purchased with Grupa Azoty’s funds will be used for medical examination at the otorhinolaryngological unit. It is suitable for carrying out full diagnostics of the ear, nose, pharynx, and larynx. Its key component is an endoscopy system with a light source, an endoscope camera and endoscopes, complete with chairs for the patient and the medical practitioner.  Mr Tombarkiewicz, Director of the Staszów hospital, stressed that the new equipment is unique in the Province of Kielce and marks a great leap in the quality of medical examination. He also assured all those present that the extension of the clinic and the purchase of the advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment will offer tangible benefits to patients.  Grupa Azoty Kopalnie i Zakłady Chemiczne Siarki Siarkopol S.A. has provided its support to the Staszów hospital since 2008. Over the last six years, the company has provided funds to renovate and furnish hospital wards and purchase specialist equipment (including bedside radiography equipment, medical equipment for the endoscopy lab and a system for urological laparoscopy). In 2009, the company also made a donation to the hospital in the form of an ambulance.
