Topics addressed at this year’s conference included the future of the chemical industry, wise innovation policy and prospects for the Polish petrochemical and fuel industry. The participants could get some insight into the future of the chemical sector, both in Europe and globally. Among the panellists were the key representatives of the chemical industry. Grupa Azoty was represented by Paweł Łapiński, Vice-President, who took part in the opening panel on ‘How to build a sustainable competitive advantage of the Polish chemical industry’. The panel discussion on ‘Responsible chemical industry – how to meet the challenges of tomorrow?’ was joined by Adam Żurek, Head of Research & Development. Every year, the conference attracts much interest in the business environment, bringing together the most successful representatives of the chemical sector, from Poland and abroad. Apart from Grupa Azoty, the partners of this year’s edition included PKO Bank Polski, BASF, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, DOW, Alwernia, Apeiron Synthesis, Azelis, Fluor, Nord Partner, Seen Holding, and Veolia Water Technologies.After the conference, the ‘Diamonds of the Polish Chemical Industry’ were presented at an official gala ceremony, which is one of the most renowned chemical sector initiatives aimed at promoting people and companies dedicated to the chemical industry, who stand out for their extraordinary achievements, efficiency and innovation. Grupa Azoty has won the award on multiple occasions. This year, the title in the Business Executive category went to Mariusz Bober, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A. The award in the Investment of the Year category was granted to Grupa Azoty Puławy for the project to construct a new facility for production of granulated fertilizers based on ammonium nitrate.
