Alphalon™ (PA6)

Product description

Alphalon™ – is the trademark of high quality polyamide 6 (PA6) – available in a wide range of relative viscosities, in modified and not modified varieties.

Alphalon™ is used in the manufacture of packaging film and monofilaments, and as an engineering plastic for the automotive, electrical engineering and household product industries.

The main modified varieties include:
L – lubricated
LN – lubricated and nucleated
T – heat-stabilized
and other modifications according to the customer’s specific requirements.


Application and use

Alphalon™ owing to its properties, is widely applicable in a variety of areas:
  • in the automotive industry – engine bay parts, interior and exterior vehicle accessories as well as the electric circuits, tie shielding,
  • in electrical engineering – distribution boxes, plugs, couplings, sockets, switches,
  • in machine construction – machine parts,
  • in construction, furniture industry – furniture parts, screws, pegs, chair parts, castors, handles, knobs,
  • in sporting goods manufacturing – fishing equipment, fishing lines, parts for skis, snowboards, rollerblades, helmets, bicycles,
  • in household appliances – parts for refrigerators, freezers, driers, washing machines, kitchen appliances, driers, drill parts and more,
  • in packaging, especially in the food industry – monolayer and multilayer film,
  • for production of semi-finished goods, like: plates, rods, hollows, profiles
  • for production of fibres, bristles, thread
  • for production of carpet fibres
  • for production of small diameter pressure tubing and Peschel tubing.

Packing and transport

Alphalon™ can be packed into following packaging:
  • 25kg (net) of granulate into multilayer bags, on pallets 1000mm x 1200mm;
  • 1100kg (net) into big bags or octabins on pallets 1140mm x 1140mm;
  • in bulk, directly into tank trucks in nitrogen atmosphere;
  • other kind of packaging agreed with customer.
Alphalon™ in big bags, octabins and bags should be transported in covered means of transport. Transport conditions should protect packaging from damage, moisture and impurities.
Transport of Alphalon™ in bulk in tank trucks and containers is made in nitrogen atmosphere.
Caution: Nitrogen has suffocative properties!

Alphalon™ is not hazardous acc. to ADR, RID and IMDG regulations.

Storage

Alphalon™ should be stored in closed original packaging of the producer in the storage-rooms, where preferred temperature is 10 ÷ 30°C and relative humidity maximum 65% at a distance of not less than 1m from the heating devices.
Alphalon™ transported in tank trucks and containers, directly after unloading should be stored in hermetic tanks in nitrogen or in air atmosphere, with humidity not higher than dew point minus 15°C.
The bags with granulate should be transferred from the cold storage room into the warm workshop about 24 hrs before the material is to be used, to balance the temperatures and prevent moisture condensation.

  • improving the quality of Alphalon™ based on new technological solutions and customers' comments and opinions,
  • conducting new project development with the customer,
  • technological support for clients in the event of processing and application problems with the supplied material,
  • quality compliance declarations in accordance with the relevant regulations, directives and requirements: REACH, contact with food and potable water, testing for banned substances.
